Galtür in Landeck: Tobogganing with children in Tyrol
Family-friendly, floodlit children’s toboggan run in the village as well as a two-kilometre toboggan run at Lake Silvretta – with lift connection & special toboggan hire.
The “Heart of the Silvretta”, the Silvapark Galtür ski area, is practically on the doorstep of the Alpenresidenz. It goes without saying that tobogganing is also on offer here – for the whole family. It is not without reason that the ski area is considered particularly child and family-friendly. Children and adults can toboggan 200 metres down the valley on this toboggan run in Tyrol – even floodlit until 22:00.
Not far away is the Silvrettasee natural toboggan run, right next to the Silvrettasee drag lift. On a two-kilometre toboggan run, you can whizz down the northern slope towards Galtür. Thanks to the specially built toboggans, children will be wide-eyed as they head back up again in comfort on the drag lift. You can hire these special toboggans at the Berggasthof Piz Buin or at the Silvretta-Haus***.

Ischgl: Tobogganing by night
Night tobogganing on over seven kilometres – one of the longest and most spectacular toboggan runs in the Austrian Alps.
If you want to go tobogganing on your winter holiday in the Paznaun Valley in Ischgl, wait until it gets dark – night tobogganing is the order of the day here! With more than seven kilometres and a difference in altitude of 950 metres, the toboggan run in Ischgl is one of the longest toboggan runs in the Austrian Alps. The starting point is the Silvrettabahn mountain station at 2,320 metres, then the spectacular route leads from the famous Idalp directly into the valley. No sledge with you? No problem! You can hire toboggans in top condition from Silvretta Sports.
Opening times
Snow conditions permitting: from mid-December to the beginning of April, Mondays and Thursdays. The ascent with the Silvrettabahn cable car is possible from 19:00 to 20:30.
Kappl: Tobogganing fun with panorama & family events
Idyllic toboggan run with wonderful views and weekly night tobogganing – perfect for families.
Just a stone’s throw away from Galtür, you can experience picture-book tobogganing in Kappl. The over six-kilometre-long natural toboggan run winds its way through the snow-covered mountain landscape, sometimes gently, sometimes swiftly, and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. Tobogganing in Kappl in Tyrol offers children and families an action-packed and scenic alternative to the ski piste. You can also toboggan down the moonlit piste every Tuesday evening during night tobogganing.
By the way: If you want to combine skiing in the Paznaun Valley with tobogganing fun, Kappl and See are the perfect place for you. The 4-day pass for the Kappl & See ski area includes cable car rides for night events.
The children’s specials are also particularly interesting for families! On selected days, Pistenbully rides and skidoo courses provide lots of fun and variety on a winter holiday.

When tobogganing in See near Landeck, the motto is: hold on tight! The varied six-kilometre run takes you over 700 metres down into the valley and offers fast-paced bends and thrilling sections. Sledges are available to hire in the region’s sports shops. In the evening, an entertaining programme ensures that the winter action continues. On selected dates, the See night programme, “Medrig by night”, takes place, with hearty hut evenings and exciting night shows from the See ski school on the programme.
